Social Networking – It’s growing popularity

Social Networking

The face of social networking has changed the way we communicate today. From meeting new people to reaching out to old friends. There’s literally something for everybody. There are both good & bad experiences. Make sure you’re on the positive side of things.

From it’s humble beginning there were chat rooms from AOL & Yahoo. Starting around the late 90’s to early 2000’s. From instant messaging to text messaging. While many have come and gone, the need to reach out to people is still there. With that said social networking is here to stay.

Next spawned social networking sites like Tagged, MyYearbook, Hi-5, Netlog- Mocospace, Facebook, Myspace. Each website has their own distinctive looks and fan base. Some of these sites are still around today. Some have changed & adapted to stay relevant today.

For example remember MySpace? It was largely popular at the time but lost it’s bearings to Facebook. Failure to keep up with the competition means disaster for any company. Those that make smart & inventive changes survive and others fail.

Social Networking

Since 2004, the growth of social media has been very expansive. Today Facebook is at the top of the food chain. With a stunning 2 billion active users monthly, no other platform comes close. Google is currently implementing there on changes as well. If you have a Gmail account, or Google+ account you can look forward to new features. Such as more security, and greater integration across platforms. Google is paving the way without any slowdown.

Windows 10 – Hate it or love it

Windows 10

Windows 10 is the latest version of Microsoft’s operating system. It is the culmination of previous operating system from Windows 7 to Windows 8.1. It sports new and improved features along with a revamped interface. It has been a long and bumpy road fine tuning this operating system. Now it’s safe to say this version is more complete. Personally it took some time before this version of Windows took hold of me. After major changes it is now in the right direction.

Keep in mind there are some privacy settings you should be aware of before using.

These settings listed in the picture above are available when you first use a Windows 10 based PC. Make sure you turn these settings off even though some settings can only do so much. The question to ask is has these settings been available in previous versions of Windows? I wouldn’t doubt it at this rate. After getting though these settings everything else is smooth sailing.

How is the performance ?

The system performance of Windows 10 is top-notch allowing for better performance and quicker start time. Another plus is that the system requirements for Windows 10 isn’t that high. Many lower end systems can take advantage of the upgrade. Be aware there may not be driver updates for your current hardware. As well as any bugs or future problems. So if you are currently using Windows 10 be sure to leave a comment. If you have any questions on how to do something just let me know.
