Computer Tip of the Week! 6/27/2013

Computer Tip – Always ask questions & write down what you see!

Computer Tip

The Importance of Documentation!!!

1. Computer tip number one:What do you see?

Do you notice anything out of the ordinary? ( Computer running slow including start-up & shutdown, Popups, Computer not powering on correctly, Bugs & glitches.etc) If the answer

is Yes always make sure to document any changes that occurred within the past few days of when the issue started.

No matter if it is a small detail: trust me they count. I can contest that every bit of information is always helpful for when it comes to troubleshooting an issue. Sometimes they can even make the repair go by a lot faster.

Especially if you can pinpoint the exact cause of the problem. This can be anything like downloading a program, changing a system setting, installing updates, installing both hardware & software.Once any of these situations have been thoroughly checked out will we narrow down the possible causes.

2. Computer tip number two: Always document everything you See & Hear

It is extremely important to keep track of every detail that occurs especially since it can save a lot of time in diagnosing a problem. The best part of documenting the problem is that you can quickly see & look up how to address the problem and fix it.Another advantage is if you’ve encountered the problem once already you know exactly what to do to fix it, and if your not 100% sure how the issue was fixed you can refer to your notes on the issue.
