Today I want to talk about a serious topic. Many of us actually neglect to remember and do something about it. Sitting down in your chair can be harmful to your health in many ways.

Now you maybe wondering what harm can come from sitting in a little old chair? Well today I will answer that questions for you.

If you sit at your desk for more than six hours a day you have increased your chances of getting heart disease. Heart disease is a disorder of the blood vessels in the heart. Not only is sitting down too long bad for you but also using a keyboard is bad for you as well. Short term effects in sore wrists & long term effects of carpal tunnel.

PC Advice number 4:

To help lesson the effects of long-term keyboard use you can use an adjustable keyboard & mouse set. This allows for greater ergonomic setup and greatly reduces the chance of injury. You may want to hold off before spending your heard earned money! Always keep an eye out for changes in price for that special item you want. Most companies nowadays often have special deals listed on a daily basis.

For today’s topic I want to pose several questions in regards to purchasing new hardware whether it’s necessary to spend money on the latest & greatest of devices.

Computer Advice number 1: Prices rise & fall like the stock market!

If your like me then your constantly checking to see the best deals on on that fancy electronic device. Sometimes that item you’ve been eyeing may receive a price drop when you least expect it.

Whether online or in the stores no one likes to spend more money than they should. The good thing about today’s market is that many brick and mortar businesses are going toe-to-toe with online companies for your business.

Ultimately this is a win-win situation for the consumer. With that said sometimes keep in mind when is the right time to buy.

Computer Advice number 2: Know the right time to buy!

I remember countless times when I have waited till the right moment to purchase an item only to find out later on that the price I paid for dropped even lower than what I initially purchased.

Situations like this can be annoying however it seems supply & demand plays a factor in our purchases of electronics. Typically this may happen a week or two after purchasing an item.

If you take this approach you must have a lot of patience.

Computer repair tip number 3: Patience is a virtue!

Computer Advice

Computer Advice

Patience young padawan patience. Patience is something we all may not have but if you do not mind waiting you will be handsomely rewarded for it. Often times if you see a deal that is too hard to believe or around the estimated price threshold you’ve setup before committing to purchase an item you should jump on the first opportunity to do so.

Sometimes if you miss the opportunity there is a chance a new deal maybe available:however it may not be as good as it was the first time.

PC Information:Desktop Or A Laptop

"<yoastmark "<yoastmark

Do you have trouble deciding which to get?

Today I will help you make that decision!!!

Whether or not you are a newbie to computers or an old pro, when purchasing a new computer there is so many options that it can be overwhelming to decide what to purchase. You will be investing a large amount of money in something that, if taken care of, you will have in your home for a very long time.

PC Information number 1:

The biggest decision you will need to make is whether you are wanting a desk top computer or a portable laptop computer. Let’s go over some of the pros and cons of each and who may do better with one or the other.

To start there is the obvious. A laptop is portable and a desktop is not. However, the newer desktops are so small that they aren’t too bad if they need to take a day trip somewhere.  Energy wise a laptop uses less, however, does not necessarily have as much power as a desktop so if you are a gamer you may be looking for a good desktop.

A desktop also affords more options in screen size, so if you are looking for a bigger screen a desktop may be your best option.

PC Information number 2:

Students whether in high school or in college are probably going to want a lap top. This will make it much easier to take notes in class and have them all stored in one spot.

It will be much easier to share a printer or use one at the library if need be. It will also be convenient if you are looking to study somewhere other than your dorm room such as the local fast food or coffee shop.

PC Information number 3:

"<yoastmark

As for price a laptop will cost you more up front and also more to upgrade.  Say you spill a drink on a laptop keyboard; this will force you to purchase an attachable keyboard and possibly cause severe damage to the internal workings of the computer. With a desk top you can move everything and cheaply replace the keyboard. It is also easier and cheaper to make upgrades to other components such as memory and hard drive size.

PC Information number 4: Final Thoughts

In the end, it is going to be a tough choice for most of us. The best thing you will want to do is do research first. Start with the pointers I gave you and go from there.

Talk to your local computer store sales person (keep in mind they are trying to make money.) As in any large purchase do your research and don’t jump into the purchase on impulse.

Computer tip – Watch Out for Spam

"<yoastmark

Receiving spam in your email account can become very annoying. Especially if you’re receiving messages that seem too good to be true. Chances are more than likely it is spam.

If you recognize something as spam before you open it, don’t open it. If you open it and then realize it’s spam, close it. Do not click a link or a button, or download a file, from a message that you even remotely suspect is spam.

Spam is most often considered to be electronic junk mail or junk newsgroup postings. Some people define spam even more generally as any unsolicited email.

"<yoastmark

Spam is determined into two category’s one is unsolicited and the other is solicited. Unsolicited is any unwanted email sent to you without your permission from an unknown source. Solicited is from individuals whom you may know even if you may or may agree with receiving an email.

Computer tip number 1:

To lessen the burden of being plagued by spam each email provider has there own spam guard. Which can be adjusted in the spam filter settings. Here you can choose between which emails are permitted to pass through. Be careful not to filter the wrong incoming emails.

These settings may look similar to the picture described above.

Computer tip number 3:

What is the purpose of spam because many individuals constantly use this attack on the daily basis. Spammers hope to take advantage of unsuspecting people. They prey upon them for personal gain. Unfortunately there has been many people who have fallen for this tactic. Stay tuned for more information regarding this this subject.

Computer tip

Computer tip

Always keep in mind while on the internet if it sounds too good to be true then chances are it’s probably not.

As I’ve said before in my previous posts always pay close attention to anything that may seem out of the ordinary.

Half the battle will be won with having good antivirus software. The other is your judgement on where you surf on the web.

Computer tip number 4:

The best defense against spam is to be aware of what is real and what isn’t. If you receive an email from someone you do not know then chances are yes it is spam. Especially if you haven’t told anyone else outside of your circle your email address.

In that instance mark it as spam so that I user cannot send you anymore emails again.

Be weary of setting your spam filters to high. This can automatically delete the wrong email because sometimes legit mail maybe sent to the spam directory by mistake.
