Computer Repair

For today’s topic I want to give a more detailed review of the effects of computer viruses because I feel that I haven’t covered this topic well enough. Previously I have mentioned the different types of viruses so today I am going to talk about the dangers surrounding them.

The effect of viruses may not be known as soon as they occur but always stay vigilant while on the internet. Some are harmless while others can cause serious damage on your computer.

One of the most dreaded nightmares for any computer owner is viruses, spyware or malware. A computer virus is an executable file or program that has the capacity to self-replicate as well as self modify within the system with its sole aim being disruption of the computer operation.

Computer Repair & Troubleshooting Number 1

Viruses may also target data stored on your hard drive, therefore resulting in its crashing. This would call for reformatting the hard drive. On the files, viruses delete, modify, or corrupt them, in which case you would not be in a position to access them. This could have adverse effects if the files in question are program or system files.

A computer virus would also have an impact on the operation of the computer where the system’s integrity is harmed. Some may not harm the system’s integrity, but would consume some of the computer’s memory, therefore significantly slowing down the computer.

On the programs side, viruses may impair certain applications and programs, therefore hindering your ability to operate or access the programs smoothly. Sometimes, the programs may give inaccurate output.

One example of this is either disabling your antivirus or causing it to crash.

Viruses can multiply within the machine’s network, memory or storage area. It would be important to acknowledge that everything concerning a computer virus is basically unauthorized.

They gain entry into your system silently. Disabling and changing the functions of the computer. There are varying impacts of viruses on your computer. Some being complex and others simple.

The severity depends on the level of harm that the viruses harm the computer. The effects will also depend on the part of the computer targeted by the virus.

Computer Repair & Troubleshooting Number 4

One of the most common ways to get a virus is to be on the internet. Of course I’m sure many of you already know that. Always be aware of the types of websites you come into contact with. Which may affect your browsing experience.

Computer Repair

Messages like the one above are false messages wanting you to click on them. The purpose is to trick the user into installing a program. With the promise to help fix your computer or pay for software that will make your computer run faster.

After you’ve used a computer as long blogImageas I have you’ll easily recognize these messages and dismiss them as false advertisements.

Computer Repair & Troubleshooting Number 5

Another way to watch out for viruses is from your email service. At one time or another we’ve all received false emails called spam to your user account.

Each email service has there own spam guards to block spam but it can only do so much. There are some emails that actually makes it past the spam filters. You have the option of manually deleting the message without ever opening them. This is helpful especially if you aren’t sure if it is a trusted source.

Computer Information number 1:

Computer Information: Have you ever wondered what you can do to speed up your computer? Well the answer is simple. You can do so by upgrading your computers memory otherwise known as ram. Memory varies between size, brands, and even price. keep in mind every computer has there limits. Bypassing these limits will provide no additional benefits which would result as a wasted expense.

This information can be found from your computer’s manufacturers website or by looking up the specifications of your motherboard.

The newer your computer is the more memory it will have available. Purchasing newer memory modules will be more expensive. Older computers are more likely to be more cheaper. The only downside is how much memory can be installed. You will have to ask yourself whether it’s worth it to upgrade your ram now or later or if you even need to do so. Now if you aren’t running demanding programs then you may not need to upgrade.

Computer Information number 3:

If you decide to purchase more memory always shop around for the best price.  To prevent yourself from spending more money than what you should have.

Below is a brief over of what memory/ram is.

Random Access Memory (RAM) is a computer storage location that allows information to be stored and accessed quickly from random locations within DRAM on a memory module. Because information is accessed randomly instead of sequentially like a CD or hard drive the computer is able to access the data much faster than it would if it was only reading the hard drive.

RAM is a volatile memory and requires power in order to keep the data accessible, if power is lost all data contained in memory lost.

Computer Information number 4:

One thing to consider when purchasing more memory is that the degree of which your computer will benefit depend on several factors. Normally adding more memory will speed up your computers start up and shutdown time.

Other times it will increase the stability & performance of your computer causing it to load information much faster. The other side of the coin is that you may not  notice any changes.

Depending on how many files you have that isn’t in any order will determine how much time it will take to fix everything. The more files you have to organize the later it will take.

Time frames can range from days to weeks and even years. Overall it depends on how much time you put into it will determine its effectiveness.

One simple way to organize your favorite files and pictures is to place them into folders.

Folders help organize your files and puts them in a single directory.

Not only that but it makes your files much easier to see and distinguish.

If you have too many files in one directory sometimes it may cause your computer down: however this will depend on how powerful your computer is.

Unorganized files can cause a disarray of confusion and leaving you feeling underwhelmed at the task ahead of you.

PC Info – Computer repair tip number 3:

Perhaps one of the most important steps is location, location, location.  I’m sure you’ve heard of this saying in regards to starting a business but the same applies to computers. A few things to consider when deciding on a location for storing your files.

1. Make sure you are storing your files in a place were you will always remember where it is located. There wouldn’t be anything worse than storing important documents in a location that you wouldn’t remember.

2. Second is this location secure from unauthorized users who may accidentally cause harm to myShh

files or documents. Always make sure your files aren’t where anyone can have direct access to them.

3. Once your files are in proper order always make sure you make a backup copy of your work because the worst thing next to losing your data is to do all the organization all over again.

4. The same steps would apply if your files are on a network.

Computer Info – Always properly shut down your computer!

Computer Info

Computer Info

Unspeakable results can occur

Failure to do so will result in problems occurring in the near future. So always be aware of what you’re doing on your computer. I know sometimes unexpected issues occur when we you least expect it. Sometimes you may not have a choice but to shut down your computer. For example an instance of your computer stalls from installing updates. In this type of situation there’s no choice but to forcefully shut it down. Now keep in mind this may not happen over night or better yet not at all.

Make sure any surge protector or Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) is not the cause of your problem. By connecting the computer directly to a power outlet on the wall. If you have a UPS that connects a USB cable to the computer to manage power saving features, make sure it is also disconnected.

If this resolves your problem, you may have a defective surge protector or UPS. In the case of the UPS, there may be other issues, such as a UPS overload or UPS drivers, reporting bad power situations that cause your computer to shutdown. Make sure there are not too many devices connected to your UPS and that it has the latest software updates.

  • Computer Info – Computer repair tip number:1

For this first half of this post I want to talk about the possible reasons why your computer may unexpectedly shut down and what causes this to occur.

If your desktop looks like this then yes this is a factor in causing slow down

Having too many pop-ups on your computer affect your computers performance. Symptoms vary to causing it to slow down to a crawl. Pop-ups can eat up your computers resources. This involves both your memory and CPU capabilities. Lastly it can affect the speed of your internet browsing experience. Ultimately it can cause you to force shutdown your computer.

Depending on how powerful your computer is will determine how well it can handle it. Slower computers will suffer the most and can’t handle the stress. Which is why you must be very careful installing new programs on your computer. Be extra careful because additional programs can be installed as well.

Computer Info – Computer repair tip number:2

Hardware & software can both experience problems. This can cause your computer to either shutdown unexpectedly or force you to shut it down manually. Hardware failure is when a component inside your computer goes bad. Software failures results in bugs or glitches that produces errors.

Leading to either a BSOD or the computer will shut down by itself. Only with the help of end users, and beta testers will help with fixing issues. Beta testers are individuals who test for bugs within a program. End users are the typical consumers.

Computer Info – Computer repair tip number:3

Software crashes occur a little differently in comparison to hardware related issues. System incompatibility between the operating system can cause errors & poor performance. Always check the system requirements available on all software programs. If your hardware doesn’t meet the proper requirements then you may not be able to install the program.

mainImageA power surge is one of the most dangerous forms of having your computer shut down. Power loss can cause you to lose the opportunity to save your work. Electrical surges can damage multiple parts or may leave your system totally inoperable.

Electrical damage can and will affect some or all components of your computer. Fires are even possible as well. If a power surge does occur you only have a few alternatives to overt a disaster. To prevent this catastrophe always use a surge protector.

Computer Info – Computer repair tip number:6

What can cause a power supply to overheat? One possible reason is a malfunctioning fan. Without proper airflow can cause a computer to shut off unexpectedly. Continuing to use a faulty power supply can result in damage to the computer. Before any additional problems it should be replaced immediately.

Most computers today are designed to turn off automatically if any of its inner components overheat. Often, heat related issues occur when the computer is working hard, e.g. playing a graphically intense computer game.

Perhaps one of the most simplest ways of checking out of your account is by coming up with a strong password. Make sure that it consists of either letters & numbers or upper and lower case letters.

Whichever password you choose for your account always make sure it is one you will remember because feeling secure wouldn’t be worth it if you’ve locked yourself out of getting into your account.
