Cell phones and it’s impact on everyday life

It’s hard to imagine the impact cell phones have on our everyday life. Especially since a lot of people nowadays rely on them for so much. They can do just about anything. They are small and lightweight and are basically small computers. Now they weren’t always this way. The picture on the upper left depicts an earlier model of a cell phone. They were big, bulky, and not easy to carry around. Years later have produced the models we see on the upper right. Keep in mind this just didn’t happen overnight. It took years and introduction of new and advanced features.

Above is a list of features all cell phones out today now carry. Whether we want them too or not. “The First Mobile Phone Call Was Made 40 Years Ago Today. On April 3, 1973, Motorola employee Martin Cooper stood in midtown Manhattan and placed a call to the headquarters of Bell Labs in New Jersey.”

“In 1983, Motorola released its first commercial mobile phone, known as the Motorola DynaTAC 8000X. The handset offered 30 minutes of talk-time, six hours standby, and could store 30 phone numbers. It also cost £2639 ($3995).”

Now that we’ve covered a brief history of cell phones it’s easy to see why they are so addictive to some. With all of these features you are still susceptible to damage and theft. Always take the necessary precautions to guard your phones. For some people there cell phone is there life. Others a means of staying In contact with family & friends. Whichever your purpose be sure to use your phone responsibly.
