Windows-versions: Why you should upgrade to a newer operating system!!!

Windows-versions: Part 1

Hold on before considering upgrading your computers operating system. There are several things you need to consider before doing so. Such as if your computer currently has viruses. If there are viruses on the computer they will still be carried over from the previous install. If the computer is plagued with viruses I’d strongly recommend not going ahead with the upgrade.

Next does my PC meet the system requirements for the install? Every operating system has a set of requirements to run efficiently. Failure to meet the requirements will result in poor performance or it may not install. Now if you aren’t overwhelmed another key feature is the available software drivers. Hardware for your computer may only work if the software is compatible with the newer operating system. Without the right software the hardware may not install.

Windows-versions: Part 2

The next step is to decide what operating system to upgrade. If you have an older computer that is still running either Windows XP or Windows Vista. Then I would recommend Windows 7. What makes this option more appetizing is that Microsoft has extended support for Windows 7 till 2020.

For those who computers currently have Windows 7 installed. I would skip passed Windows 8 straight to Windows 10. The reason being is that Windows 10 is what Windows 8 should have been. It is more efficient, better performance, and a more simplified look.  Keep in mind newer isn’t always better. There have been reports of issues happening, and unexplained phenomena occurring.

Newer isn’t always better. You’ll have to ask yourself is it worth upgrading your operating system? In most cases I say yes it is worth it. It’ll all depends on what you plan on doing.
